Bred at the University of Minnesota, Chippewa Blueberry is a 3-4 ft. tall compact bush that produces abundant, very light blue, sweet and tasty berries. Ripening in July, they are a delicious summer snack and topping for ice cream. Chippewa is also a fine ornamental shrub with beautiful, red fall foliage.
A mid-season variety that produces sweet, medium sized, light-blue berries, with excellent quality. High-bush blueberries with high yields in short season areas. Bushes will grow to about 3-4 feet tall. Although they are considered self-fertile, you will receive a better crop and bigger berries if you plant 2 different varieties. Hardy to zone 4. Requires acidic soil. We ship 2 yr. old plants in 1 gallon pots. Begins producing fruit in the third year.
