Special Considerations: Rhubarb requires a large amount of annual fertility. It is recommended to amend the location with lots of compost before planting as rhubarb is a relatively long-lived perennial crop.  It is also best to annually top dress around the base of the plants in the fall or early spring with good compost once in production.
